Lagoon/Flats Fishing

On the Island's north end, there's a huge lagoon and mangrove area that works as a nursery for reef fish; feeding on them and the crustaceans living on the bottom, we can find a very healthy bonefish community, as well as snook, small tarpon and even permit, some grow to record size. We can also catch barracuda, snapper, and triggerfish. We recommend to“fly fish” for bonefish. If it's your first time, our guides will be happy to instruct you and help you get your catch. We also have spinning gear on board. Besides fishing, you will be surrounded by beautiful scenery where you will be able to spot different kinds of birds, the occasional crocodile, and, if the water level allows it, a Mayan ruin in the lagoon. A one-of-a-kind experience!

Mangrove & Snorkel Tour

In addition to fishing, you can choose to explore the mangrove to spot different kinds of birds like flamingos, ospreys, pelicans, frigates, cormorants, the occasional crocodile if you're lucky and if the water level allows it, Mayan ruins in the lagoon, so don ́t forget your camera. Snorkeling is done on the reef in the sea just outside the lagoons. And before coming back to town, enjoy development-free beaches.

The 6 or 8-hour trips include sandwiches. The crew will clean your catch for you.
